Journal 4 – Reflections on a Successful Year and Upcoming Summer Adventures

As we move to the end of another school year it is time to sit back and reflect on another successful year.  I have had many enjoyable conversations with students and their families through more than 350 Morrisby feedback meetings and have enjoyed visiting some familiar schools and one familiar school in a new campus.

It has been good to reconnect with trusted and long-term colleagues and meet some new ones at various conferences around the world.  It is also time to look forward to the big summer conference of the International Association for College Admission Counseling (IntACAC) which this year takes place at The University of Western Ontario.

I am looking forward to being back on campus and to the many and varied professional development and networking activities on offer.  Afterwards, in a change for me, I will be taking part in a bus tour for college counselors around the state of Michigan, before heading to Yale University to do my summer college admission workshop at the International Summer School of Scotland there.  It is going to be different for me to be a participant in a bus tour rather than leading it.  I am looking forward to seeing some new colleges and universities and meeting up with a lot of new colleagues.
